Hordes/Warmachine European Team Challenge 2010 - Tue Jul 13, 2010 1:33 pm

Image

Well various members (and friends) of Tanelorn recently attended the Hordes/Warmachine European Team Challenge 2010 held at Maelstrom Games in Mansfield (3/4 July 2010). This event was a team event with teams of 4 players. We had two teams that entered the event, the aptly named Bottle Bank Bodgers made up of John Snape, Chris Wood, Aaron Boyhard and Conrad EJ Gonsalves and Team TBC made up of Nick Roberts, Matt Cole, Tim Lawrence and a friend of the club (and of us) Jonathan Pickles aka Pickles.

The event was won by a Belgian Team - Team Sprocket with the Welsh Team, The FireStorm Faires coming in 2nd. In 3rd place was our very own Bottle Bank Bodgers.

Team TBC came a respectable 20th.

Congratulations to all who went and attended an event which for me was one of the best events I have been to in a long, long time. Pictures of the event can be found in the gallery here

Congratulations also to Matt Cole who has become the proud owner of the Club Wooden Spoon.

Hordes/Warmachine UK Nationals 2010 - Mon Jun 14, 2010 3:08 pm

It's been a while since an update here so I just thought I would tell you about how the club did at the Privateer Press UK Nationals held in Birmingham at Expo 2010 on June 5/6th. There were 64 players at the event this year with 10 of those coming from the Tanelorn Wargames Club. The atmosphere at the event this year was quite simply awesome with a high level of sportsmanship from all playing. The PP Press Gangers organising the event did a sterling job as well.

So on to the results for the club member that went.

    2 John Snape (Tanelorn) Skorne
    5 Aaron Boyhan (Tanelorn) Cryx
6 Andrew Harrss (Tanelorn) Protectorate of Menoth
10 Tim Lawrence (Tanelorn) Protectorate of Menoth
    12 Jon Webb (Tanelorn) Cryx
15 Conrad EJ Gonsalves (Tanelorn) Cygnar
19 Chris Wood (Tanelorn) Retribution of Scyrah
    22 Bruno Baron (Tanelorn) Trollbloods
53 Nick Roberts (Tanelorn) Circle Orboros
    60 Phil Gedge (Tanelorn) Cryx

And the Best In Faction:
    Cygnar Conrad EJ Gonsalves (Tanelorn)
Protectorate of Menoth Andrew Harriss (Tanelorn)
    Cryx Aaron Boyhan (Tanelorn)
Retribution of Scyrah Chris Wood (Tanelorn)
    Skorne John Snape (Tanelorn)

So well done to all players from the club.

Tanelorn Tribune relaunches. - Mon Apr 05, 2010 8:57 pm

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say that the Winter 2009-2010 issue of the Tribune is good to go and can be found here.

This issue is a bit brief and I will be doing a lot of work on the visuals going forward. Sadly time has been my enemy this time so I haven't had time to perfect the look.

Joining me in issue two should be word thrall Nigel. If anyone else wants to add a news story, pictures or anything else, please PM me or email and I will find space.

So enjoy this issue. Volume II 2010 will be out around June.

Cheers.

Jon.

A full list of current entrants can be found on the public section of our fourms here.

It's March already! - Thu Mar 04, 2010 3:20 pm

Its March already! I thought it would be nice to post a few club highlights from Jan and Feb as we are moving through 2010 so quickly (relatively speaking).

January

The Club moves to it's new venue!
The club AGM was held with good support from the club membership and with new people offering to take on tasks and roles within the club to help progress the club. Also taking a step back making players aware of the fact that they have a responsibility to new players and less experienced players to be there to help them.
The WFB campaign starts, organised by Barry Pittman with 14 players taking part. Much excitement as WFB re-appears at the club again!
Uncharted Seas is played at the club for the first time and you can see the fishing hooks going in to player's mouths!
Old faces keep re-appearing at the club - welcome back all!

February
Resurgence 2010 held (see below and the gallery), our first event at the new venue. All goes well and much fun is had by all.
The 2nd day for the WFB campaign ensues - its being held on the last day of each month for 6 months.
Talks start about running a 40k club league/knock out tournament.
The first 4 way Uncharted Seas game is played at the club with much hilarity for all those involved.
Plans for The London Riots II are afoot - April 11th - more info to follow.
The internal club Blood Bowl final is played between Andrew Harris and Barry Pittman ...

Forums Upgraded - Thu Mar 04, 2010 1:02 pm

Apologies for the short service disruption in the club forums, the forums software had to be upgraded. It's important to keep this up to date from a security perspective. It's all done now and at the most there was a 30minute outage. Normal security has been resumed.

RESURGENCE 2010 Results - Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:28 pm

Tanelorn Moving Venue as of 1st Jan 2010 - Tue Dec 15, 2009 3:00 pm

After 7 years at their current location of St Gabriel's Church Hall in Wansteaed, Tanelorn are moving as of 1st Jan 2010. This move has been driven by the reduction in numbers attending the club (though strangely in the last quarter of 2009, numbers are picking up again) versus the outgoing costs to run the club at the current venue. The first club meet of 2010 on the 3rd January will be at the new venue. An exciting fresh start for the club to continue to grow and go from strength to strength.

The committee would like to extend their thanks to all involved at their old venue of St Gabriels for all their help and support in the last 7 years.

Details of the new venue are listed below.

Tanelorn do Cardiff Carnage 2009 - Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:38 pm

5 of the club went down to the Cardiff Carnage event run by those lovely Viet Taff guys.

We had 2 players entered in WFB and 3 players in Hordes/Warmachine. Of course this meant that the club wooden spoon was up for grabs in the 3 player Hordes/Warmachine event. This went to Conrad EJ Gonsalves - gratz!

Other placings of note were as follows:-

Jon Webb - Best Painted (Players Choice) in Hordes/Warmachine as well as 3rd place.

Even better was Chris Nobbs who WON the WFB event with his Dark Elf army (well okay it was Rich Fitzmaurice's army really!)

If you want to watch the awards ceremony then step on over to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxa0o_QI6K0.
