So today I visited our new LGS in Gants Hill run by a very nice gentleman going by the name of Carlos Vazquez. I had beein in contact with Carlos in early March looking for some Malifaux new Arachnid Steampunk Spiders, which unfortunately he didn't have in stock and at that point I stated that I would pop in to say hello.
A word of warning, parking could be tricky but there are options. There is a pay and display car park on the Cranbrook Road A123 which heads North East and then its a short walk to Miniature Empire at 347 Eastern Av, Ilford, IG2 6NE. You could of course get the tube (Central Line) to Gants Hill station and its not far from the station at all. If you are lucky you can park in front of the shop but Community Police do patrol the area and this is all red route roards and you can only stop in the parking area for 20 minutes.

“...When the breach was reopened, the walled frontier town of Zuckersville had been wiped from the face of Malifaux. Neither a single brick nor board of wood, or even a furrow in the ground remained to tell of its location. All signs of settlement had been removed by persons unknown.
As some of our venerable readers may recall, the town had been founded some years before by Emannuel Keystone Zuckers, the noted Earth-side philanthropist and scientist. The Zuckers family reportedly paid the local authority handsomely for the town plot, and set about creating a closed community devoted to science and the magical arts. Rumours of bizarre occurrences, unexplained disappearances, and all manner of odd happenstance were commonplace at the time.

I'm sure many of you with loved ones have had that feeling of trepidation before when you sit them down and tell them about your 'habit'. About the hours spent huddled in the dark corners of various cities and towns and down the country with groups of like-minded people, just there for a good time but so often left wanting more. About the time spent painstakingly and carefully accruing and preparing your collection, hoarding it against harm. The cost(!). My girlfriend, like many of my friends and family

So one of my New Year's Resolutions is to build models. I have loads of stuff sitting and waiting to be built and used. I am going to focus my efforts on Malifaux, Saga, Hordes/Warmachine initially. With the release of Relic Knights later in the year, no doubt I will have to do something there too. I was listening back to the Malifools podcast, one of the two podcasts that I am involved in, namely Boosted Damage and Malifools, where Jon has stated that he will be building 365 models. Now that is no mean feat but he does have the time being a student! I thought to myself, this is a good idea and if I record it on a blog to spur me on then perhaps I could do something similar but clearly with my limited time not as ambitious. So to this extent I will be trying to build at least a model a week. Now the term model could be an individual model or part of a unit so please be kind to me if you are keeping an eye on me!

Did I read that title correctly?
You did. Some blogs follow the war-gaming times of fantastic painters, brilliant players who win major tournaments, and people who have really interesting insights gained for studies of game-theory or military history. But what about the rest of us? The people who can't spend the twenty hours plus on one figure, who don’t play up to 15 games a week, or haven't spent twenty years digesting the merits of feints and flanks?

Finally! The second blog. I did say that it would be sporadic..... :)
The release of steamroller 2013 has led to the usual spasms of doubt. Can my lists cope with the new scenario's? Can I cope with the rise of Cygnar and Menoth? Can I kill Colossals?
Then I realised it was all irrelevant. Seriously, read on.
Random tangent bit: A lot of the firms/offices i have worked for (I mostly do administration of projects/management consultancy), have used a maturity model. Apart from it being a sales device (a little bit akin to Scientology -eek!), what most of them boil down to is that you can't run before you can walk. It dawned on me as a person who a) someone who plays two games on average a month and b) doesn't want to spend more time in the meta dojo that work and young family allows, c) only winning a max of 1/4 games, why worry about issues if I haven't handled the easy things first?
